The agricultural cooperative Bioilis

The agricultural cooperative Bioilis, managed by Theodoros Vassilopoulos, was founded in 2007 in the South of the Peloponnese. Today it is a grouping of 119 small producers, who all work according to the requirements of organic farming.

The aim of the cooperative is to serve and assist its members in the development of an agriculture respectful of people and nature. The cooperative also helps by providing advice about standardisation of products for the home and foreign markets.

The cooperative is located in the fertile valleys of Amaliada, in the district of Ilia. This region is better known in Greece as the « promised land » due to the high quality of food it produces. A lot of lands in the region are converted to organic farming every year.
