The Butter Factory of Rochefort or Butter Factory Mathot-Sofra was founded in 1948 by Arthur MATHOT, assisted by his wife. The Mathot family began their business travelling by bicycle to collect butter from local farms.

For 60 years, this 100% Belgian company has been producing natural butters made from the fresh milk of cows raised in the plateaux of the Belgian Ardennes.

Today, it is the founder's sons and daughters who ensure a stable and dynamic family management, bringing the fine taste of hazelnuts from the farm butters of yesteryear to the consumer's table.
